PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate problems that there is a fear that an operator is caught by a rotating blade or injured by touch thereon during maintenance because the rotating blade of a spreader becomes an exposed state and may be protruded from a housing of a waste culm treating apparatus when the waste culm treating apparatus is opened for carrying out the maintenance, etc., in a conventional waste culm treating apparatus. SOLUTION: A cover is composed as follows. The side of an inlet of the housing 2 of the waste culm treating apparatus 1 housing an operation part such as a cutting apparatus 30 is opened and the housing 2 is mounted on the main machine of a harvester.
