摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module allowed to be miniaturized and capable of securing efficient electric connection with the outside. SOLUTION: The optical module (1) comprises a substrate (11) having a through hole (12) for supporting an optical fiber, a 1st wiring film (14) arranged on one surface of the substrate (11), a translucent resin film (15) arranged on one surface of the substrate (11) so as to cover the whole through hole (12) and the 1st wiring film (14), a 2nd wiring film (16) arranged on the upper surface of the translucent resin film (15), an optical element (13) connected to the 1st wiring film (14) or the 2nd wiring film (16) and arranged on the through hole (12) through the translucent resin film (15), a sealing material (18) for covering the approximately whole surface of one surface of the substrate (11) on which the optical element (13) and the 2nd wiring film (16) are arranged, and a connection part (17) formed on the end part of the 2nd wiring film (16) so that its film thickness is thicker than the thickness of the 2nd wiring film (16) and the end face is exposed to have the optical module electrically connect to the external on the end face.
