PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a partition of a slot from being crushed or deformed when a slot type fiber optic cable is reduced in diameter. SOLUTION: The fiber optic cable comprising a slot rod 10 having a plurality of slots 11 formed on its outer periphery, a stack 13 of ribbons of coated optical fibers put in the slots 11, a rough winding cord 15 wound around the slot rod 10, a pressure ribbon 16 wound around its outer part, and a clad 17 covering them is characterized in that the heat shrinkage rate of the rough winding cord 16 is≤0.5%.
