METHOD, SYSTEM, FRAMEWORK, AND COMPUTER-READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM FOR MAINTAINING PERIPHERAL DRIVERS OF NETWORK PERIPHERAL CLIENTS ON NETWORK COMPUTING SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method, a system, a framework, a and computer-readable recording medium for maintaining peripheral drivers of network peripheral clients on a network computing system are provided to guarantee compatibility with all network peripherals/servers even if the different drivers among the simultaneously activated network peripheral drivers include different components/file having the same name. CONSTITUTION: A computer system keeping a driver package repository receives a call for installing a complete target package to the driver package repository(800). An installer extracts the package GUID(Generic Printer ID) from the package to be installed(810). The installer accesses the driver package container and it is checked that the package GUID is present as one of the package GUID container names in the driver package container(820). If the extracted package GUID is not present, a new package GUID container is generated and the extracted GUID is assigned(830). A version container is generated to keep a version of the driver package(840). The package is stored in the new version container(850). Metadata describing the stored packages including the drivers are added to a metadata repository database(860).
