PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent misinterpretation that a meter device has broken down due to the fluctuation of the sweep action of a pointer caused by the step-out of a stepping motor. SOLUTION: The meter device 1 has a meter body 3 which has a pointer 9 provided at the tip of a rotating shaft 7 projected slidably at a display board 5, a stepping motor 20 which rotates the rotating shaft 7, and a controller 30 which controls the operation of the stepping motor 20 for rotating the pointer 9 to the specified position of the display board 5 according to the detected signal from a sensor 45. The controller 30 stops the sweep action control of the stepping motor 20 when an output voltage, which is the one after the lapse of a prescribed time from a time when an output voltage value of a battery B reaches a stop voltage value or larger, is than the stop voltage value or larger, and resumes the sweep action control when the output voltage value after the passage of a prescribed time from a time when the output voltage value of the battery B after the stoppage of the sweep action control reaches a restart voltage value or larger is the resumption voltage value or larger.
