Data transfer method within a distributed system in which units are assigned to at least one controller. The controllers (C1, C2) are connected via a bus system to an evaluation unit. At least one condition value is measured and transferred as a digital sequence over the bus system to the evaluation unit. The controllers transmit the digital sequences over the bus in a synchronized manner, i.e. the digital sequences are transmitted using an arbitration method. An Independent claim is made for a data transfer device for data transfer within a distributed system.
