PURPOSE: A light shielding apparatus for a side door of a vehicle is provided to improve convenience by drawing the light shielding apparatus out of the side door, and to enhance the appearance by containing the light shielding apparatus in the side door in not using. CONSTITUTION: A light shielding apparatus for a side door of a vehicle is composed of a side door(10) forming a recessed part along a window glass(11); a light shielding member(20) elastically wound by an elastic body, and contained in the side door; and a fitting part(30) formed in the light shielding member to fasten the light shielding member to the window glass in drawing out of the side door through the recessed part. The fitting part is pulled up from the recessed part after moving down the window glass, and fixed to the upper part of the window glass. The light shielding member is wound on a winding shaft by restoring force of the spiral spring, and moved into the side door in releasing the fitting part from the window glass.
