PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage controlled oscillator capable of substituting for a crystal oscillator. SOLUTION: The voltage controlled oscillator that is used as a frequency reference device in an electronic device such as a cellular phone and the other mobile device, is a device for generating an output signal having a frequency. The device has a die temperature and includes a first temperature sensor to sense a first temperature, a non-volatile memory to store calibration information for controlling the output signal frequency as a frequency of the first temperature, and a semiconductor oscillator to generate the output signal as a function of the calibration information.
