PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder capable of easily exchanging a feed roller when the feed roller requires exchanging due to wear or the like with time, and stably feeding a recording sheet while the position of the feed roll relative to a sheet separation member and the recording sheet is accurate at any time. SOLUTION: The sheet feeder consists of a device casing, a paper feed tray which stores the recording sheet by being formed in approximately rectangular shape, and stored in the device casing in a nested manner, a feed roll having the end part of the rotating shaft rotatably supported relative to the paper feed tray, a power transmission member which connects the rotating shaft with the rotation drive source provided at the device casing side when mounting the paper feed tray on the device casing, a retard roll provided on the paper feed tray, and a bottom plate allowing the top recording sheet of the recording sheet stored in the paper feed tray to abut to the feed roll.
