PURPOSE: A porous conductive medium using polyurethane and its preparation method are provided, to obtain a metal foam (conductive medium) having an excellent conductivity and a large surface area. CONSTITUTION: The porous conductive medium comprises a porous polyurethane body; a copper coat formed on the surface of the porous polyurethane body by plating; and a nickel coat formed on the surface of the copper coat by plating. The method comprises the steps of washing a polyurethane foam to remove impurities; dipping the polyurethane foam by using an aqueous solution containing CuSO4, HCHO and NaOH; coating a copper coat on the surface of the polyurethane foam by electroplating using CuSO4; and coating a nickel coat on the surface of the copper coat by electroplating using an aqueous solution containing NiSO4 and NiCl2.
