PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize weight reduction, noise reduction, and manufacturing-cost reduction of a press metal die by simplifying the structure between an upper metal die and a pad, and by suitably pressing a workpiece. SOLUTION: In the connection structure of a press metal die 1 of an upper die 10 and a pad 12, in a press metal die, both of the upper die and the pad are connected to each other, while an elastic layered body 2 being interposed between the inner side-wall face of the upper die and the outer periphery side-wall face of the pad.
