PURPOSE: An apparatus for preventing leakage of hot blast from blast furnace tuyere is provided to promptly prevent leakage of hot blast from the observation member by promptly sensing leakage of hot blast if hot blast is leaked through observation member at the front end part of tuyere, thereby injecting a blocking ball into the tuyere side. CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus for preventing external leakage of hot blast through an observation member(200) installed at tuyere pipe of blast furnace, the apparatus comprises a base member(10) vertically connected to a lower part of the tuyere pipe; a hot blast blocking member(30) installed at the inner side of the base member and moved to the side of the tuyere pipe as an elasticity means(20) during leaking of hot blast so that the hot blast blocking member blocks leakage of hot blast; an operation means(50) installed at the inner side of a supporting means(40) horizontally installed at the outer wall of the base member so that the operation means is operated by force of hot blast leaked through the observation member; and a locking means arranged at the inner side of the supporting means in such a way that the locking means is connected with the operation means so as to enable the elasticity means to be elastically operated, wherein the elasticity means comprises resting plate(22), spring(24) and fixed element(26), wherein the supporting means comprises first and second supporting plates(42,44), wherein the operation means comprises operation lever(54), operation plate(56) and first and second connection arms(58,60), and wherein the locking means comprises locking block and elastic body.
