PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical drop cable in which movement of a plurality of optical fibers housed therein can be suppressed to improve transmission loss and temperature characteristics. SOLUTION: The optical drop cable comprises optical fibers consisting of a plurality of primary coated optical fibers or coated optical fibers, a long cable sheath having a V-shape notch indicating the dividing position to half the housing part which houses the above optical fibers, and a tension body disposed near the housing part of the cable sheath to absorb tension in the stretching direction. The packing density of the optical fibers with respect to the cross section of the housing part is specified to 30 to 70%. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
