The procedure is for the preparation of a surface coating of long wood or derived timber product materials entails, whereby the surface coating consists of a backing material provided with a lacquered layer printed on the visible side, and applied to the wood by means of a hot melt glue, and is especially made of paper. The lacquered layer of the ready available surface coating is contactless heated by a device for the designed heat treatment. The heating may be by a gas burner, a hot air flow, or by a laser.
