<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery having excellent charge/discharge characteristics, and to provide the manufacturing method of a negative electrode for the lithium secondary batteries. <P>SOLUTION: The lithium secondary battery is equipped with a negative electrode using an amorphous or microcrystal silicon thin film deposited on a current collector as an active material, a positive electrode, and a nonaqueous electrolyte. In a triode test cell using a negative electrode as a working electrode, lithium metal as a counter electrode and a reference electrode, and a nonaqueous electrolyte as an electrolyte, the negative electrode in which the initial charge capacity when the cell is charged until the working electrode and the reference electrode become the same potential at a current of 1 mA/cm<SP>3</SP>is 0.6 mAh/cm<SP>2</SP>μm or less per area 1 cm<SP>2</SP>of the thin film of the working electrode and per thickness 1 μm of the thin film is used. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
