PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for selectively accumulating a water-soluble iodine compound in a diseased site, exhibiting a contrast thereof with nondiseased sites and carrying out contrastradiography. SOLUTION: A liposome comprises a solution containing the water-soluble iodine compound and encapsulated therein and preferably a lipid selected from the group consisting of phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylserine as a membrane constituent component. An X-ray contrast medium comprises the liposome and is preferably useful for the contrastradiography of vascular diseases such as arteriosclerosis. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
