PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speed control method for a vehicle for keeping a proper vehicle speed when an accelerator operation not intended by a driver is performed. SOLUTION: The speed control method for a vehicle comprises the steps of: detecting stress from a feet of the driver, by a straingauge 33 disposed at a floor part under the foot of the operator; and suppressing increase in operation of a throttle actuator 31 of the vehicle to lower the vehicle speed, when stress having a change amount of predetermined value or more in a predetermined time is input to the straingauge 33.
