<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration wave drive unit in which a starting torque is less affected by the moisture in the atmosphere. <P>SOLUTION: A frictional force is prevented from degrading due to moisture in the atmosphere by providing a part where rigidity is not constant near the pinching contact surface of an elastic member having a friction surface for static deformation under pressurized pinching, or by press-working the elastic member so that a contact stress is concentrated with a sliding surface as a prescribed flat shape. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
