摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve responsiveness of a variable valve timing mechanism on the basis of oil viscosity. SOLUTION: This control device has a temperature sensor 22 for detecting a temperature of oil for operating OCV 21 for controlling operation of the variable valve timing mechanism VVT, a response speed detecting means ECU 40 for detecting a response speed of the VVT, a viscosity detecting means ECU 40 for detecting the viscosity of a corresponding hydraulic fluid with respective temperature areas of the temperature detected by the temperature sensor 22 and a learning means ECU 40 for learning the viscosity of the hydraulic fluid detected by the viscosity detecting means. The learning means determines the deterioration in the hydraulic fluid on the basis of the leaned viscosity of the hydraulic fluid, calculates target displacement of the VVT and a guard value of the target displacement, and changes the duty ratio by correcting output time and rest time of a driving signal of the OCV 21 or corrects gain for determining the duty ratio of the driving signal.
