<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal processor in which an optimum terminal name can be imparted to processing to each signal, and to provide a program to realize its control method. <P>SOLUTION: When a user presses an [AUTO NUMBERING] key, at first, the states (insertion states) of cards (an input card and an output card) inserted into respective slots in an input unit and an output unit connected to an input connector and an output connector (steps S11→S12). Thereafter, kinds of the inserted cards are detected (a step S13). And, the number to be added serially is decided (a step S14).
