PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a terminal for electric wiring made of stainless steel which has a surface contact electric resistance comparable to that of a plating material, and has blanking properties comparable to that of a copper alloy. SOLUTION: The terminal for electric wiring uses a ferritic stainless steel sheet comprising, by mass,≥1.0% Cu, and having a base metal hardness of≤220 HV and an elongation of≤12% as a base material. The stainless steel sheet comprises, by mass,≤0.04% C+N,≤0.5% Si,≤0.5% Mn, 9.0 to 15.0% Cr and 1.0 to 3.0% Cu. The surface contact electric resistance of the terminal for electric wiring made of stainless steel can be reduced by precipitating a Cu rich phase into a matrix, or forming a Cu-concentrated layer as the outermost surface of the base material. By controlling the base material hardness to≤220 HV, and the elongation to≤12%, its blanking workability is improved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
