<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus forming an image with little variation in density by predicting the variation in density of a formed image according to the image concentration of the image signals and controlling the fed toner quantity. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, a developing device 4, toner feeding parts 14 and 15 feeding toner to the developing device, a sensor 18 detecting the toner concentration in the developing device and a target value for the toner concentration are provided. A control part 20 controlling the toner quantity fed by the toner feeding parts based on the target value and the detected value detected by the sensor and an image number of pieces fetching means 21 fetching the information of the number of formed pieces of the image formed based on the image signals are provided. In the control part 20, the image density of an original image is calculated by the image signals and the toner quantity is controlled by using the calculated image density and the number of pieces of the images fetched by the number of pieces of the image fetching means 21. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
