PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption without affecting visibility of a required visible display. SOLUTION: A back light 106 in a display part 104 is lit when a CI signal is detected, and facsimile reception is automatically performed when a CNG signal is detected after circuit closing, and therefore, the back light 106 in the display part 104 is extinguished to perform facsimile reception because it is unnecessary that a user is in the vicinity of a communication device. When the CNG signal is not detected, a telephone call is given without extinguishing the back light 106 because a destination wants to speak. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
