PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a pickup by ensuring a good radial shift characteristic even with use of a finite objective lens having a short inter-object distance, and highly accurately and rapidly adjust an optical axis of a light emitting/ receiving device. SOLUTION: In positioning of a light emitting/receiving device 11 in the direction of a track there is kept the state where only focusing servo for an objective lens, providing a predetermined rotation to a recording medium. The objective lens 1 is displaced by a predetermined amount in internal and external periphery directions. In each case, positioning of the light emitting/receiving device in a track direction is performed such that an amplitude of a tracking error signal is substantially equal. |
