<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointing device which enables intricate operations with ease and gives appropriate feeling of operation to operators. <P>SOLUTION: A key top 10, a spring 30 and a flame 5 are laid between a fitting hole 2 of a chassis 1 and a locking plate 3 within the chassis 1. A pointing device 4 is laid on the top surface of the locking plate 3. The frame 5, having four-cross type support arms 6 and a central support projection 7, is fixed on the device 4. In inactive conditions, the key top 10 is supported apart from the frame 5 via the spring 30. The key top 10, when pressed, sinks into the chassis 1 along with the degeneracy of the spring 30, and slants with a support of the support projection 7 of the flame 5. Then a part of the pressure part 14 presses a part of the device 4, and the device 4 outputs a signal corresponding to the pressure. The key top 10 moves with substantial length of a stroke by the influence of reaction force of elastic members, which enables intricate operations with relatively large operations, and which also gives the operator appropriate feeling of operation, when operating the device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
