The method involves determining the type of clothing of at least one occupant in the vicinity of at least one body part and taking this into account when setting the desired value of the interior temperature. The thermal conductivity of the clothing is determined to establish its type. If it is high then light or thin clothing is assumed and the desired temperature is increased.
