PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive push type switch being compact in the direction of moving of an operation member and achieving satisfactory productivity. SOLUTION: In this push type switch, it can be miniaturized in the direction of moving of the operation member 4 because a first contact part 5g and a second contact part 5h of a movable contact 5 move in the direction in which a fixed contact 2 is extended. Since the first and second contact parts 5g, 5h escape upward from the fixed contact 2, a withstand voltage can be increased when compared with a conventional case where the contact parts escape between two fixed contacts 2. Moreover, a conventional slide body becomes unnecessary to provide inexpensive and compact push type switch capable of reducing the number of parts and achieving satisfactory productivity.
