An aqueous dispersion having particles of at least one resin, characterized in that it exhibits at least two peaks in its particle diameter distribution curve and satisfies a specific relationship with respect to the heights of the peaks of the particle diameter distribution curve and/or a specific relationship with respect to Brookfield viscosity values in a specific concentration range. The aqueous dispersion exhibits a reduced viscosity even at a high concentration more than 65 %, is stable for many days, and thus can be used for producing a coating material, an adhesive, a pressure sensitive adhesive, a treating agent for fiber processing, and the like which are excellent in storage stability even at a high concentration.
