PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing methyldichlorohydrin in high yield. SOLUTION: This method for producing methyldichlorohydrin comprises passing a reaction product solution obtained by reacting methallyl chloride with an aqueous solution of chlorine gas and composed of an organic layer and water layer through a coalescer and dividing a liquid discharged from the coalescer into an organic layer and a water layer by the difference of specific gravity to provide an organic layer mainly composed of methyldichlorohydrin.
