METHOD FOR PRODUCING SEWN PRODUCT FROM CELLULOSE FIBER HAVING FORM STABILITY

In a method for producing a sewn product from cellulose fibers having form stability involving an immersion step of impregnating the sewn product with a treating fluid containing a form stabilizing agent, a fluid removal step of removing an excessive amount of the treating fluid from the sewn product, a drying step of removing through vaporization a solvent in the treating fluid attached to the sewn product, a press step of pressing out the wrinkles from the sewn product and a curing step of reacting the form stabilizing agent attached to the sewn product, to thereby impart form stability to the sewn product, an improvement which comprises using a form stabilizing agent which does not by-produce formaldehyde, carrying out a step of smoothing out wrinkles prior to the above immersing step, and practicing the above immersion, fluid removal and drying steps under conditions such that the sewn product does not have wrinkles.
