PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a DDR type zeolite membrane having a thickness capable of being preferably accepted to an industrial gas separation process or the like simply and in a short period of time. SOLUTION: To form the DDR type zeolite membrane by carrying out hydrothermal synthesis with using a raw material solution such that the content ratio of 1-adamantane amine to silica (1-adamantane amine/SiO<SB>2</SB>) is 0.03 to 0.4 by molar ratio, the content ratio of water to silica (water/silica) is 20 to 500 by molar ratio and further, the content ratio of ethylenediamine to 1- adamantane amine (ethylenediamine/1-adamantane amine) is 5 to 32 by molar ratio, and a DDR type zeolite powder that becomes a seed crystal.
