PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device in which no dedicated circuit is required to increase the number of input/output ports even though the number of input/ output ports of a CPU is insufficient and a circuit using a low cost microcomputer having a small number of terminals is constituted, and to provide a driving method for the device and an electronic equipment. SOLUTION: The display device is provided with a displaying means which conducts turn-on and turn-off displaying and is one of controlled objects, an operating means which conducts an operation inputting and is the other controlled object and a control means which performs display control of the displaying means and simultaneously performs operation control of the operation means based on the operation input. The control means almost simultaneously outputs at least one first control signal which performs display control of the turning-on and turning-off and one second control signal which have a different period with respect to the first control signal and detect the reaction to the operation input, from control terminal to each of the control objects and performs the control so that the controlled objects that are to be independently controlled are simultaneously driven.
