PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition free from a halogen-containing compound and excellent in tensile elongation and flexibility. SOLUTION: The resin composition comprises 100 pts.wt. of a thermoplastic polyester resin comprising one selected among (1) a PBT resin, (2) a PBT resin which comprises a PBT resin copolymerized with a dimer acid represented by formula (I) (wherein R is an alkyl group; and the total of the carbon number of Rm, Rn, Rp and Rq is 31) and contains 0.5-30 mole% of the dimer acid component, and (3) a thermoplastic polyester elastomer resin comprising a PBT as a hard segment and a polyether or a polyester as a soft segment, or a mixture of at least two among them, and, incorporated therewith, 5-30 pts.wt. of either one or a mixture of both of phosphate ester compounds represented by chemical formulae (II) and (III) (wherein R1 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group). The electric wire is obtained by employing the resin composition as a covering layer of a conductor. |
