PURPOSE: Provided is novel method for manufacturing an oximester derivative of derivative pyrimidyloxybenzoic acid having herbicidal activity, particularly, the oximester derivative of 2-(4,6-dimethoxypyrimidin-2-yl)oxy-6-hydroxybenzoic acid represented by the formula(I). CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing an oximester derivative of 2-(4,6-dimethoxypyrimidin-2-yl)oxy-6-hydroxybenzoic acid represented by the formula(I) comprises esterification of a compound of the formula(VI) and an oxime derivative of the formula(VII) using a coupling reagent. The formulae are as defined in the specification.
