Production of (2-oxo-1,3-diaza-1-cycloalkyl)alkyl (meth)acrylates (I) comprises reacting an alkyl (meth)acrylate (II) with a (2-oxo-1,3-diaza-1-cycloalkyl)alkanol (III) in the presence of a lithium 1,3-dicarbonyl complex catalyst. Production of compounds of formula (I) comprises reacting an alkyl (meth)acrylate of formula (II) with an alcohol of formula (III) in the presence of a lithium 1,3-dicarbonyl complex catalyst. R<1> = H or Me; A, B = 2-5C alkylene; and R<2> = 1-4C alkyl. An Independent claim is also included for a composition comprising a compound (I) prepared as above dissolved in (II).
