PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus that generates CMY image reproduction data for reproducing an image with a reproduction target density from RGB image data, corresponding to the gamma characteristics of a cathode ray tube, and to provide an electrophotographic apparatus utilizing the same. SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus applies color conversion to input gradation data of the RGB color space to obtain gradation data of the CMY color space, and further applies halftone processing, to convert the gradation data of the CMY color pace to image reproduction data. The gamma characteristics A of an output density versus the gradation of the RGB color space are made identical to the gamma characteristics B of an output density versus the gradation of the CMY color space in the halftone processing. |
