PURPOSE: An apparatus for changing a developing direction of an air bag is provided to automatically convert the developing direction of the air bag depending on a body size of passengers. CONSTITUTION: One end of an air bag module(1) is fixed to a mounting section(3) by means of a hinge member(5). The mounting section(3) is positioned at a center of a steering wheel, a predetermined position of a dash panel, and a front seat. The hinge member(5) includes a supporting bracket(7) and a hinge pin(9). The air bag module(1) is rotated by a predetermined angle with respect to the mounting section(3). A cam device is positioned between the air bag module(1) and the mounting section(3) so as to convert an angle of the air bag module(1) with respect to the mounting section(3). The cam device includes a cam(11) and a step motor(13) for driving the cam(11).
