An engagement hole (27) of two stages (27a,27b) to lock a latch (21) of a lock mechanism, is formed in a direction conversion mechanism (7) that converts the motion of door in opening and closing directions. A stopper mechanism (33) is used to stop the latch in a half-locked state to make the door manually movable by a fixed distance in between the lock stages. Two doors are movably mounted in a hanging state in a horizontal door rail attached to the electric train. An actuator (5) connected with the door rail moves one of the door while the direction conversion mechanism transfers the movement of the other door with a direction conversion. The latch is moved forward and backward in coordination with the opening or closing of the doors, so as to approach into an engagement hole and leave the engagement hole by the closed and opened positions of the doors. The latch latched by the stage (27a) of the engagement hole according to stopper mechanism during departure of train after a stop, is released from the stage (27a) and made to approach into the stage (27b) when the velocity of the train reaches more than fixed value.
