PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for calculating the print cost accurately and efficiently based on the quantity of a coloring material consumed actually when a printed matter is formed using a coloring material based on a digital image represented by discrete numerical data in digital print, and to provide a printer driver, a printer and a print system. SOLUTION: The method for calculating the print cost comprises a step for calculating the quantity of a coloring material being consumed when a printed matter is formed based on a digital image, and a step for calculating the print cost based on the consumed quantity of coloring material thus calculated wherein the quantity of coloring material being consumed is calculated based on the number of dots being printed on a printed matter. |
