PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a headlight for an automobile, which is constituted so that a low beam irradiated from the headlight has a light distribution pattern in which a horizontal cut-off line is arranged toward the on-coming traffic lane compared to the front direction of the headlight, and by which an efficient visibility of the front road surface can be achieved even when the body of the automobile rolls toward the on-coming traffic lane. SOLUTION: When the body of the automobile rolls toward the on-coming traffic lane, a light source bulb rotates in the opposite direction of the rolling direction to maintain its roughly erect condition. Thus, the horizontal cut-off line CL1 of the low beam light distribution pattern P is prevented from inclining downward in the direction of the on-coming traffic lane. A horizontal cut-off line-forming region 20a1 of a reflector 20 is comprised of plural reflecting elements 20s1a, 20s1b and so on. Each of the reflecting elements is formed so that it inclines 5 deg. from the vertical direction, from its upper end to its lower end, toward the optical axis Ax1. With this configuration, when the automobile rolls toward the on-coming traffic lane, the horizontal cut-off line CL1 is sharpened by roughly crossing each of the reflecting elements 20s1a, 20s1b and so on with a terminator L1 formed by an inner shade 18c of the light source bulb. |
