PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve warming up operability of a seawater indirect cooling type marine engine and to prevent exhaust of white plume concerned at trawling over a long time. SOLUTION: A selector valve 15 is provided for selectively connecting a delivery port of a seawater pump 11 driven by the engine 1 to a water supply port of an intercooler 6 and to an outside water exhaust port 16. When operation of the engine 1 in a low load and low rotation region is continued over a long time, the operation of the seawater pump 11 is continued and supply of the seawater to the intercooler 6 is stopped while avoiding an adverse influence to a pump vane. Thus, emission of the white plume caused by supercooling of intake air can be prevented.
