There is disclosed a pulsatile pump having an internal configuration and/or action such as to induce helical flow in the fluid being pumped. The internal configuration is preferably helical and static such that the helical flow is induced by the fluid passing along it. The internal configuration may be a core 13 with an external helix 12, or a chamber (21, Fig 2) with an internal helix (12, Fig 2), or a distendable body (12, Fig 3). |
