<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traffic volume estimation device capable of precisely grasping a fluctuation of traffic volume which is a bottleneck largely having influence on generation of a traffic congestion. SOLUTION: A range dividing function part 13 detects that a link traffic volume exceeds a prescribed value, and specifies a congested area. The day pattern of traffic volume for the congested area is then accumulated in a traffic volume data accumulation memory 13, and the traffic volume data in a traffic volume prediction day is stored in an observed traffic volume data memory 14. A traffic volume predicting function part 15 judges the similarity between the traffic pattern in a prescribed time band before a prediction time of the very day of prediction with the past traffic volume pattern, and predicts the traffic volume after a prescribed time from the prediction by use of the traffic volume pattern of the most similar past day.</p> |
