<p>An expansion machine (M) employing steam as working medium, comprising a first axial piston cylinder group (49) on the radial inside disposed annularly to a rotor (27) while surrounding the axis (L) of an output shaft (28), and a second axial piston cylinder group (57) on the radial outside disposed annularly to surround the outside thereof, wherein the first and second axial piston cylinder groups (49, 57) are driven by a common cam plate (39) and disposed with the pitch deviated in the circumferential direction. High temperature high pressure steam operates the first axial piston cylinder group (49) at first, and then operates the second axial piston cylinder group (57) and both outputs are combined to drive the output shaft (28). An axial expansion machine (M) can thereby be reduced in size furthermore while increasing the output.</p> |
