PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oscillator that smoothly changes the resistance of a resistive component constituting a low pass filter at application of power so as to stabilize the oscillation frequency of a crystal oscillation circuit in a sufficiently short time at application of power. SOLUTION: A P-channel MOS transistor(TR) 51 is connected in parallel with a resistive component 50 of the low pass filter 19, and a gate control voltage generating circuit 53 applies gradually and temporally smoothly changing voltage to the gate 56 of the P-channel MOS TR 51 so as to smoothly increase the equivalent resistance between the source 52 and the drain 54 of the TR 51.
