PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eddy current type decelerator which does not generate magnetic short-circuit. SOLUTION: The angled portion of the internal circumferential surface and the bottom surface of ring type ferromagnetic material plates 50 to 53 are chamfered, and therefore the magnetic path in which the magnetic flux generated from the chamfered surface 51a (52a) of the ferromagnetic materials 51, 52 reaches the chamfered surfaces 50a, 53a of the other ferromagnetic materials 50, 53 becomes long. Moreover, since the angle formed by the chamfered surfaces 50, 51 (52, 53) becomes larger than 180 degrees, a magnetic circuit is no longer formed and magnetic short-circuit is never generated.
