PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IEEE-1394 circuit system which can solve the problem related to the IEEE 1394 standard that the procedure for obtaining individual information on a device provided in a configuration ROM from another node is complicated when the protocol stack of a link layer and others is not in an active state. SOLUTION: Devices A-C constituting a system respectively have physical layers 11, link layers 12, transaction layers 13, and registers (configuration ROMs) 14 containing individual information 15. The identifying operation to each device from another device can be performed quickly without making the link layer 12, transaction layer 13, and register 14 of each device active by precopying 16 all or part of the individual information 15 contained in the configuration ROM 14 provided in the register 14 on the physical layer 11 as individual information 17.
