PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abnormality detector capable of accurately detecting any abnormality such as a human fainting in a room such as a toilet. SOLUTION: The abnormality detector includes a setting means for setting a miniature-area pattern in which the size of each characteristic quantity calculation area of a basic-area pattern is reduced if a determination means determines that the subject of monitoring in a room is in a stationary state, and a means for causing a detection means and the determination means to carry out processes using each characteristic feature calculation area of the miniature-area pattern and for determining that an abnormality has occurred with the subject of monitoring in the room if the determination means determines that the subject of monitoring in the room is in a stationary state. |
