PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller for hot rolling lines which is excellent in thermal shock resistance, not damaged even when the induced current value and the heating temperature of a steel plate or the like are raised and sparks generated between the roller and the rolled steel plate to be heated in a conventional device are prevented over the entire length and width of a rolled steel plate. SOLUTION: This roller is the roller 1 for hot-rolling lines which is arranged right under an induction heating device or before or behind there and on the metallic core bar 5 of which ceramic sleeves 4 are fit and the roller is armored on both sides in the body length direction with ceramic sleeves 4 so that the diameter of the sleeve is larger than that of the middle part in the body length direction of the roller.
