Pipe coupling

A coupling for joining two pipes carrying water or other media comprises a fleece layer (8) which is located between the rubber-elastic sealing element (2) and the glass fiber reinforced polyester sleeve (1), and is joined by material bonds to both the sealing element and the sleeve. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing such the coupling, which involves application of nonreticulated glass fiber reinforced polyester to the fleece layer on the sealing element before the latter is brought into contact with the sleeve.
